Throughout the process of research and planning, the making of my music video and the evaluation stages, I used many media technologies to aid me and the making of my products. I used Google or safari for all of my internet searches during research and planning as it is a trusted search engine set up on my computer. I also used google to access blogger through as well as google image which was useful for finding inspiration when making mood boards and research pages during research and planning. Pinterest is another site that I used during research and planning to gather images to use as inspiration for such things as artist style and locations. I used Google to research relevant artists and music videos as inspiration before creating any of my products. I also researched different pre-existing music videos on Youtube as inspiration, so I had an understanding of what shots worked well and were commonly used for my genre of music. I used common conventions from other music videos to ensure my music video looked like a real video. I also had to download the song I choose to use for my music video, from Youtube to then be able to add it into imovie and final cut pro. Yet i had to use Youtube converter to convert the song into the right format for editing. When choosing the song, I wanted to create a music video for, I used Spotify. Which is an app I had on both my ipad and iphone. This allowed me to listen and save music into playlist as well as exploring playlists for specific genres of music such as indie or pop, making it easier for me to find a song. For my draft music video, I used my own Canon 1100D camera with an extended lens, yet for an unknown reason the footage was blurry. Due to this for my final music video I chose to use a different Nikon camera which ensured good video quality for the music video. For the editing of my draft music video I used iMovie as it was already downloaded to my MacBook pro. However for my final video I decided to use final cut pro as it was more advanced software which had more features for me to use when editing the video, this is the software more likely to be used In the making of a real music video. Both the software’s were Easy and simple to use making the production of the music video easier. All the editing was done on MacBook pros or iMac computers as these are easy to use and already have the software downloaded. After completing the video, I embedded it to blogger which meant it could be viewed myself on other devises as well as my teachers and peers. Blogger is where all my coursework is displayed in one place making it easy to access. Uploading my draft music video to blogger meant people could leave feedback in order for me to improve my final music video. All of the video clips and shots for the video were stored on google OneDrive which allowed me to store them all in one place which could be accessed from any device.
